Peer review thatactually teaches

Peercept is a structured peer assessment platform for courses. Students submit work, review a peer using instructor-designed rubrics, and receive feedback — with AI assistance at every step.

How it works

From submission to feedback in four steps

01Instructor

Create an assignment & rubric

Set the submission type (essay, code, or file upload), design a rubric with scoring criteria, and configure AI assistance options.

02Student

Submit your work

Write a rich-text essay, author and run code in the Monaco editor, or upload files — then submit before the deadline.

03Student

Review a peer's submission

Score each rubric criterion, write feedback, and get live AI guidance on the quality of what you've written before submitting your review.

04Student

Read your feedback & revise

Once your peer completes their review, the Review Center unlocks. Read the feedback, then optionally submit one revision of your work.

Features

Everything you need for meaningful peer assessment

Structured Rubric-Based Reviews

Instructors design rubrics with per-criterion scoring — either traditional performance levels or checklist-style subitems. Every review is anchored to the same criteria, making feedback consistent and comparable across the class.

Code Submissions with Live Execution

Assignments can require code instead of essays. Students write Python or Java directly in a Monaco editor and run it in-browser — complete with stdin support and a live output console — before submitting.

AI as a Peer Reviewer

Instructors can assign AI as the peer reviewer for any submission — Gemini generates a full rubric-scored review that instructors can preview and edit before releasing to the student. Auto-review on submission is also supported. While reviewing, students get real-time feedback quality scores and per-criterion AI chat guidance.

Synchronous Review Mode

Enable synchronous mode to enforce a fair exchange: students must submit their own work before receiving a peer to review, and must complete that review before they can read the feedback on their own submission.

Resubmission with Diff View

After receiving peer feedback, students may submit one revision of their work. The platform preserves the original as version 1 and the revision as version 2, with a side-by-side diff so reviewers and students can see exactly what changed.

Course & Enrollment Management

Instructors create courses, approve enrollment requests, or bulk-invite students via CSV. Peer review assignments can be generated automatically across all enrolled students with a single action.
